Why Things That Worked For Other Entrepreneurs Will NOT Work For You
I hope you are the kind of aspiring entrepreneur that is constantly reading and learning. What am I talking about, of course you are. You are reading my blog after all.
But what if listening to other entrepreneur success stories actually hurts your chances of having success of your own.
So, let me make an example here.
If you search the internet for how to get your business off the ground or just getting started with coaching, you will find lots of tips on how to go about that. But how do you know which of these techniques and steps are the ones that are going to work for you.
You don’t.
Starting a business from the same place
Now I don’t want to get you all discouraged about starting your own business. I just want you to remember that where you are right now, might not be where someone else is starting off from.
Isn’t that the whole point? Your coach, the successful entrepreneur with his software business, the consulting freelancer, literally no one will start at the exact same place as you will.
So why should you end up at where they all ended up? You most likely won’t. That’s the truth.
You have to keep in mind that they have different backgrounds and might be ahead of you in certain areas and might have been further back in others.
Always try to read between the lines and figure out where they came from when they started the journey, they encourage you to take.
Becoming a millionaire or just being happy with a low six figure income
The same thing that matters for your starting point also matters for where you are headed.
Not everyone on earth can have the same goals, and luckily, they don’t.
Some folks just love to toot their own horns and give seminars or webinars and stuff, and some people are happy just writing all day long.
Don’t think for a second just because some successful marketing guru told you that you need to network and constantly contact other people that this is the only way to be successful. It certainly is not.
It really depends on where you want to go. Some people need to make a difference or change the world even, like Elon Musk or Steve Jobs. But for some of you reading this it’s okay to just generate a low six figure income and enjoy it.
Don’t feel like you need to have the same ambition as the next entrepreneur, you don’t. You need to do what makes you happy.
What I’m trying to say is that not everybody has the same goals, which means that it might not take the same strategy or steps to get where you want to go.
Your uniqueness makes all the difference
Last, but definitely not least, you are unique.
I know, I know, not everyone is special or has a gift. I disagree. Everyone has their special something that makes them stand out in a crowd.
So, stand out!
You can take their advice and see what might work for you, but make sure to remember that they are in fact NOT you and you are NOT them.
Try different things and choose a path that makes sense for you.
Don’t get discouraged just because someone says that your way won’t work, because it didn’t work for them.
Be confident and don’t lose sight of your goals.
